About Irish Guidance

Choosing what to do after school — or deciding to change direction later in life — is one of the biggest decisions most people make. Yet the information out there is scattered, out of date, or written in jargon that helps nobody.

Irish Guidance exists to fix that. We publish free, practical guides on every route through Irish education and into work: the Leaving Cert and CAO, PLC courses, apprenticeships, university, funding, and changing careers as an adult.

What we believe

• Every route is a real route. University suits some people; apprenticeships, PLC courses, or going straight into work suit others. We don't rank pathways — we explain them.
• Plain English wins. If a 16-year-old and their parents can't both understand a guide, we rewrite it.
• Up to date matters. Points, deadlines, grants and course lists change every year. We review our guides regularly.
